I am sure you must be very stoked about Halloween coming up in a few days. Like you, I too get goosebumps just thinking about going trick-or-treating and dressing up as one of my favorite superheroes.

Although this Halloween, let's take the environment into perspective and celebrate an environmentally sustainable or green Halloween together! 

How To Celebrate Green Halloween?
Here are a few ways you and your family can celebrate a Green Halloween! 

DECORATIONS
Instead of going up on Amazon and buying new decor items for Halloween, let’s try to go around your house and collect supplies and materials that you could use for making cool new decorations.

CUT DOWN ON WASTE
Let's say no to plastic by using glass or compostable silverware instead of polystyrene cups and dishes.

TREATS AND CANDIES
If you are giving out candies, consider organically produced and organically made candies with wrappers that can be recycled.

PUMPKINS
It might take an hour or two but try to go to your local grocery store and manually carve out a pumpkin. This not only is fun but helps cut down on waste produced by buying one-time-use plastic pumpkins.

TRANSPORTATION
Try to avoid driving around and instead go around the neighborhoods on foot or on your bicycle.

COMPOST AND RECYCLE
Use the leftover pumpkin after Halloween and just compost them to cause less harm to the environment. Also, don’t throw away your costume, instead recycle it!

COSTUME
Make your own costume using old clothes and bedsheets! Not sure how to do so? Well, YouTube has so many videos which can teach you how to DIY your Halloween costume.
